It’s easy to make assumptions. But as we found this year, it’s easy for assumptions to prove incorrect. For World Product Day 2020, we host three speakers who can help us explore uncertain terrain, and find ways to think again as Product Managers.
How do we react to dramatically changing circumstances?
How can we keep research fresh, uncovering new information rather than rehashing the same old stories?
Randy Silver – What Do We Do Now?
Product strategy is based on an analysis of the market, customer personas, and a series of bets on how to win in that space. COVID-19 has claimed far too many lives, devastated the economy, and changed how many of us live & work – but it’s also well and truly screwed up product roadmaps the world over.
In his talk, Randy Silver guides you through the questions you need to be asking – and the conversations you need to be having – to ensure you and your team are working on the right things, right now.
Shruti Ramiah – Research Can’t Stop: Lessons from N26
User Research helps avoid the biggest risk in product development – building the wrong thing. How can you ensure that you always have your finger on the pulse of evolving customer needs and attitudes?
In this talk, Shruti will share some tools and techniques to enable this continuous learning. It will help you break out of cookie-cutter research methods and apply creativity to how you explore and validate solutions with people.
Eli Montgomery – Beyond Human Centered
You might be feeling like the world is a dystopia, but there are real choices made every day around us that led us here. In fact, this talk will take a closer look at human centred design, and the ways in which it’s broken. In this talk Eli will cover how putting individuals at the core of what we measure is both bad for products and bad for business and what you can do instead to drive great products that are better for the world
