In 2018, Alastair Moore joined the Strategy team at Mishcon de Reya LLP, a British law firm with offices in London and Singapore. The focus in this role is introducing machine learning techniques to help support the firm’s activity and to initiate research into the emerging field of computational law.

Alastair is a UCL Computer Science PhD with a background in analytics, machine learning, business strategy and early-stage tech innovation.

In 2008, Alastair co-founded UCL spin-out and has since helped launch several early-stage companies. Satalia Inc. is an optimisation and machine learning company applying constraints methods to a variety of problems, including logistics. Clients include Tesco and PwC. He was also on the founding team of venture-backed We Are Pop Up Ltd., a Techstars London company, that was the first EU platform to execute a fully automated commercial real estate license. It developed a network marketplace model for trading commercial property and was sold in 2016.

Alastair retains an active teaching role in several leading international research organisations. He is Senior Teaching Fellow on MSc Business Analytics at the UCL School of Management where he was founding Programme Director for two years. In 2018, he began teaching entrepreneurship and technology strategy on the Beijing International MBA at Peking University, and he has been a visiting teaching fellow at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
