In their session from Agile On The Beach 2018, Stanislava Potupchik and Antonio Cobo present ‘Games for feedback’
Serious games are a safe place where you can try out some risky behaviours that you don’t dare to apply in your real life.
Can you imagine that game is over and there are no consequences?
Doesn’t it give you the liberating feeling of freedom to explore?
Now you’ve practiced new ways of being yourself and you can decide whether you’d like to apply them in your everyday communication or rather not. In this gaming experience Stanislava and Antonio look at communication and feedback between delivery teams and business people. Giving orders or sharing advice? Accepting the challenge or saying no? Proxy PO or value facilitator?
This workshop mostly focused on business side of the delivery process and is ideal for product owners, business domain owners, internal and external stakeholders, managers to practice the way how they can communicate with the delivery department to give and receive feedback. Developers can learn their side and scrum masters or agile coaches can obtain some tools to facilitate similar games in their environment.
STANISLAVA POTUPCHIK – BIOGRAPHY
Trigger people so that they move forward and make the world go round – this is my mission as I perceive it in the past several years. To fulfill it I work as a scrum master and facilitate serious games – at my current client and other companies and also as meetups and conference workshops. I started using games in 2000 long before I learned that they were called serious games. Living in Russia I used those to help individuals and teams to become better selves. In 2015 I moved to the Netherlands and established a community around soft skills in-person serious games here.
