Your IT projects will fail without a correct and complete set of requirements or user stories. This is true whether your organization follows a waterfall approach in which the requirements need to be defined up front or an agile approach in which the requirements are revealed as the product is created. In either case, requirements must be captured and understood by both the organization and the developers.
This is often difficult to achieve – especially when it comes to process improvement projects. Many organizations try to make changes to their processes but find that their attempts are not as effective as they wanted them to be. Why? The most common cause is missing or misunderstood requirements. #dataflowdiagrams reduce the risk of failure.
